Default Replaced Airbags with Springs

I recently replaced my rear airbags with springs and a couple days later my battery was dead. I couldn't find anything that was left on, so I am wondering if I need to disconnect the air compressor or plug the lines that ran to the airbags? I am wondering if it keeps trying to inflate the bags and therefore continues to run.

Thanks in advance!

Did you change the settings using a programmer device to tell the truck that you don't have air springs any more? That should stop the compressor from running.

I did not. I don't have a programmer. I just removed the leveling fuse and relay, but I have read that the leveling relay is also responsible for ABS working, so I assume that's not the best option. Is there a generic programmer that I should buy for my D2?

Where are you located?
If you're close to south central Va, I'll turn it off, no charge. I have a Hawkeye.
If you're not, maybe another member close to you can help. Beats spending the money and waiting on it to arrive for just one thing. Although an obd2 with LR software is a good tool to have if you do your own work.

Thanks, but I'm in Montana. I posted on a local forum also and I believe I have found someone with a diagnostic tool to turn it off for me.

In the mean time, you could disconnect the wires going to the compressor, and/or use cable ties to keep the level sensor arms in place so the system thinks it's level..

Level doesn't matter. Height matters.

You're right, i used the wrong term; edit: use cable ties to keep the RIDE HEIGHT sensor arms in place so the system thinks it's AT THE CORRECT level..

Keep it simple, remove connector C0780 at pump and the pump will not drain your battery. Pump power comes from FL9 via SLS relay R5/R216 in eng compt fuse box so there's not an individual fuse too remove.

Thanks number9, which connector is the C0780 connector? I see a blue and white connection at the front of the pump.
