Default S and m flashing. pickle juice

So I hope I have this in the right spot. Doing this all on my phone because we are 800 miles from home at the in laws. I have a 2000 land Rover discovery 2. And a pregnant wife. Well on the way down a large amount of pickle juice got spilled on the gear shifter and right away the s and m light started flashing and the d was flashing.
Pulled over and googled. As some had said went through all the gears slowly with only n showing on the LCD.

I drove it a bit farther down the road pulled over again and have No reverse. Babied to the folks house Where I still have No reverse. Had to have the brother help push it back up a hill.

So things I've done thus far is as some have said the ecu on the trans is picky for its volts Which I've taken the old out and replaced with a newish one. The battery light still came on But went away after a lil gas. Let the car charge it turned off and tried again. Same issue. Only the n will show on the LCD and won't engage the reverse. But you put it in d and you can drive it all over the place with it shifting correctly.

Thoughts. Very handy changed the intake gasket at my house. Limited tools here and being in the keys? Yay.

Anyways. Thoughts on what to do next.

I'd make sure the xyz switch is adjusted. Follow the cable going from the shifter to the side of the transmission and you'll find the switch.

you can loosen the bolts and try to adjust it. There is a special tool mentioned on the manual, but many have had good results with trial and error.

There is also an adjustment for the cable itself.

pickle juice, I guess the search didn't help with that one.
Jafir is probably right. but I would try this around the console.
pull the shifter up and remove the console cover, there are a couple wires in there sport mode for one.
also under the storage box is a 4 wire connector all orange if I remember correctly, that is you final connection to the tranny. pull the box and make sure it is not wet in there.
I found a burnt connection in there , but I had reverse.

Dang I'm not doing well online today. I'm reading too fast and totally missed the pickle juice part.

Well It's fixed. Unsure what I did. New battery and maybe 20--22 rounds of turn on, not working, move wires, turn on. Ect
Anyways there was some hope when the two 399 relays were switched. It went into reverse then into drive But not back into reverse. And just kept playing with it. Now working fine drove it 900 miles with No problems. Besides my exhaust leak but That's another thread.

Oh and I sprayed the xyz switch with engine cleaner with it still mounted. Though I don't think it helped anything.

I tend to leave towards the ecu needed to run though So many times with things working correctly before it would drop the code. No proof of that but That's the thought.

Thanks for the help guys.

Rover on!
