Default self leveling switch?

I have a 2001 diso II that sometimes drops it's rear. When I start it up it takes a couple minutes to level. It does not do it all the time...just sometimes? Is this a self-leveling switch problem? If so how much of a hassle is it to correct?

I have the same problem, but it is my airbags. At 120K+ they are due. No problem when temp above 40F. but drops occasionally when colder or carrying a heavy load in rear. I will be replacing in 2 weeks.

First, that is not a self leveling switch, might want to read up on it in your owners manual, it is for off road wheeling only and for speeds under 20 MPH, I believe.
Never use it to try and raise a sunken rear end, you will just add fault codes to the ecu.
You might want to send me your number and I will walk you thru what is going on and what to do.

When ordering new bags, buy only the new 3rd. generation Bag from Arnott Ind., better then the factory bag for less money and a lifetime warranty.

If it was the air bags fault...it would consistantly leak. The back end would drop always. It has to be electrical. Something that is not "reading" correctly. If it was an "air leak" it would be consistant....always loosing air presure. My number is 1-800-243-2498 I am by myself and work for myself so leave a phone number if I don't pick up. I really appreciate any help as the local dealer is ruthless! Patrick
