Default spraying coolant

Hi all. Hope someone can help. Have a '93 Range Rover Vogue that is spraying coolant from behind the water pump area I think. There's very little lose of coolant from the reservoir. I know its coolant from the white trace spray droplets on my hoses and air filter, and the general coolant smell. Problem is I can't find where it might be coming from and what I need to do about it. Also today I noticed my temperature gauge was very slow to come up to normal running temperature (it's about 25C outside). And my fuel consumption is pretty high. Any help would be appreciated. Your guage may be slow to come up if your coolant level is too low.
If the pump hasn't been changed before I would make sure you get a new on before you tear into it, you'll most likely need it.

Thanks Mike. Much appreciated. Thing is though, my coolant level is not low (I check it daily and no need to top up). But I still get spraying coolant from what appears to come from behind water pump. I've look for tell tail signs around this area but nothing to explain it. But the spray marks are there and are happening (probably only when I drive). If I drive a fair distance, stop and lift bonnet, motor still on, I can smell the coolant but still not see the problem. Any further thoughts?

Sounds like a failing pump like mike said. When they start to go, they weep coolant, and it gets thrown everywhere under the hood. The worse they get, the more coolant that gets out. If you get Range up to temp, then pop the hood and look around the pump, you'll probably see a fine mist of coolant being sprayed out.

Thanks WolfPack. New pump ordered. Would this also cause in increase in fuel consumption?
