Default strange EAS problem !

hi to all,

eas problem with my 96 RR

problem =
left side of the car (front & rear !) most of the time is about 1 or 2 cm higher than
the right side of the car, sometimes the difference is much more and up to 4cm

occasionaly (only happenen several times over 2 days) car indicated eas-problem

went to dealer

the eas "bags" are less than 1 year old, so i guess they are not the source of the problem,
anyways, the car goes up & down normally

dealer hooked car up to computer - eas code error said = problem with all 4 height sensors

dealer said = very strange and very unlikly - he noticed that my eas compressor had only
6 (cant remember what) and it had to be 10 (something with pressure)

so, dealer put in new compressor

BUT :

still had 2 eas warnings over 3 weeks time

and, sometimes the left side is higher than the right side again,
sometimes up to 4 cm

car rises & lowers normally

another remark, sometimes while driving in normal position
and keeping it in normal position, when i stop at an intersection
the car rises suddenly and lowers back without me doinig anything
and without any chages in the indicator lights of the eas push button

finally,

what could be wrong with the eas, knowing that bags & compressor
are new, but still, difference in height between left & right side

any good advice would be greatly appreciated !

i am going back to dealer this week and would like to be well informed

Default RE: strange EAS problem !

The dealer should be able to perform a calibration procedure on the EAS ride height sensors. They use a scanner such as an Autologic unit ---to do this. The tech can set the ride height wherever he wants to-- on each corner----measure ground to wheel arch height with a tape, and set the new values as the norm . If a particular ride height sensor is not responding correctly, it must be replaced.
