Tachometer not connected?
Recently I bought a 1993 Range Rover works fine but I suspect some lousy mechanic disconnected the tachometer (it reads maximum when I start the engine). I have tried to check on various manuals and electrical wiring schematics but there is no mention of where is the tachometer connected (usually to the negative on the ignition coil, I think). Can anyone help me make the tachometer work? What is the color of the wiring for the 1993 model?
Thanks, Miguel

Tachometer again
After reading several manuals I found out that the tachometer is connected to the alternator via wire WS (white-grey). I am now trying to locate the wiring and see if I can fix it. In fact, there is a test procedure outlined on the electrical Troubleshooting Manual.

Tachometer not connected
The tachometer signal comes from the coil in those first couple years of V-6 cars.But... that doesnt explain the speedometer. Id check for loose wiring connections behind the cluster, since thats about the only thing that speed & tach have in common.Speedometer signal comes from the VSS which is on the transmission. Maybe? its just a coincidence to get wiring problems on both those separate items?
