Default 2000 land rover discovery II 4.0 engine fuel pressure regulator not connected

while working on my 2000 Disco with a 4.0 engine I noticed that what I think it's called the fuel pressure regulator is not connected. can someone tell me why this would not be connected? I don't know if it broke or I just never noticed it not being connected. Here are two pictures of what im talking about you can see on the picture on the right. that the cable is not attached to the regulator? the other pic is just to show where it's leading to showing it hasn't been modified at least from what I can see.

Not quite sure what you are referring to in those pictures. Is a cable disconnected at the throttle body? I couldn't see if that was the case. There are two cables connected at the throttle body. One goes to the accelerator pedal and the other goes to the cruise control. The cruise control cable is attached to a vacuum operated actuator on the other end. That appears to be what you are talking about.

cruise control. Looks normal to me. Cruise Control Actuator (Genuine Part # ETC7150 ) - Land Rover switches/control unit/actuators from Atlantic British

There is no standard fuel pressure regulator in the V8 d2, it's built into the pump.
