Thoughts on Warn winch contoller
So I recently picked up a awesome used Vr10000s Warn winch for the LR3. I need a new winch controller. Has anyone tried out this set up?

Description
With easy plug-and-play installation, the Warn wireless winch remote can control your winch from anywhere within a 50 feet range of your vehicle without the need for hard-wiring or splicing. The truck version fits all Warn truck and SUV self-recovery winches with a 5-wire control pack or contactor. Equipped with a shock-resistant transmitter, durable key fob for convenient storage, and is sealed for protection against the elements.
So is it worth the bang for the buck or should I just stick with the tried and true wired controller?

Call me superstitious but prefer hard lines, know for sure when something is supposed to work vs not. I just do not see utility in the new wireless stuff, more points of failure, how to guarantee winch wont run when sorting out a tangled drum during use for example.
subjective view of course.

I never had any delay issues or problems with the Warn Wireless setup. It was much more handy using it vs a wired controller. I'm a steel cable guy vs synthetic line and being able to walk 25+ ft away while winching sure beats being only 10ft away (if that..) from the cable.
The batteries last a pretty good while and the system will go to sleep. I like the safety feature of how you have to hold the buttons down for 5sec or so & then it will be enabled vs oh I just tapped the in/out button and it came on causing damage or hurting someone. The mount is sturdy, the remote is sturdy, and just have a spare set of batteries for out on the trail and call it good.
