Default Throttle manifold issue

Hi, everyone

I'd like to know if anyone has had experience with the issue in the throttle manifold in their Freelander. There's been a valve tapping sound, and I had my wife to take it in and see what the problem was. Now, it was minor, and she didn't even notice it. It was I who noted the sound and asked her about it.

Anyway, she takes it in to the dealer and he stated that it was broken valves in the throttle manifold, which was causing the sound. The fix would be about 1600 dollars .There was also a problem with a seal on the gas cap, which also needed to be replaced at a cost of about 100.

Has anyone had this done? Any help would be appreciated.
