Default tranny gasket kit

looking at them and wow.......pricey! nearly 6 bills for a kit.
what do i really need? most of that junk looks like paper gaskets that i can make. so besides output seals, pan gasket and filter, what else is a must?

i'd like to do both, but prices are all over the place and as usual....i have no idea what i am looking at or what i am doing..... the last transmission i took apart was in 99.......it's still in pieces.
hoping to have better luck this time.

i have a tranny slow rolling its way from the west coast. i want to do what i should before i stick it in.
i am seeing gasket kits for $400 (local) and rebuild kits are all over the place..
