the unit in the 03/04 was slightly beefier than the 00-02 units, but i think it only came out to approx. 3/4 of an inch longer.
i would assume you would be using the 03 drive shaft and cross member. I would check with of of the sites parters to be sure

There were no 4.0 in the 2003. The 2003 and 2004 are nearly identical except for the transfer case. You can exchange anything between these 2 year models. Somebody tell me if I'm wrong

search for a transmission from a 2003 OR a 2004. They are very plentiful and no more than $300 for even a low-mileage unit and that price includes shipping.

Pretty sure the difference is just the torque converter. I think Ashcroft's website has more details.

Even minute as that would be, couldn't make a difference.

Hey drowssap so do you think a 02 transmission can work on a 03? Turns out the junkyard owner thought it was a 03 but as I was removing it I was the cdl nipple and I ran the vin and it's a 2003. It's just a little shorter so we can just buy a longer drive shaft???

P.S. thanks a lot man!!
