Default Trouble Towing travel trailer w/03' Discovery

I have a '03 Discovery II and I need to pull a 27' travel trailer. The weight is not an issue since the trailer weights 4800 lbs. The issue that I encountered has been the wiring. I managed to purchase an adapter from Atlantic British Ltd which plugs into the Discovery's square plug in the rear of the right break light but, it only gives me a 4-pin flat plucg which will provide me with turn signals and break lights the only problem is that I need a 7-pin plug that will provide for the trailer breaks. I have checked with several trailer places and they will not touch it. I spoke to one of them and he said that if I purchase the break control I can try to install it myself..He said that the truck should have a plug under the dash that is specifically design for adding a break control. Is this true...? Someone please help...I really need to have this break control and I can find any info on it...thanks to all.......

I just installed the prodigy brake control. The truck does not have a plug you have to hard wire the control unit. Go to etrailer .com and you can order all of the material to do it yourself including the 7 pin connector. Just plug in the 4 pin connector to the 7 pin and then run a 10 guage hot and ground wire from your battery. Don't forget to put a 30 amp breaker about 10 inches from your battery on the hot wire. These will be run to your control in the cab. Then run the 10 guage wire from the control to your 7 pin connector. You will also run a wire to your brake switch on the pedal. They will supply you with awiring diagram. It just takes a little time but you will save alot of money. Or just go to a reputable travel trailer dealer and they will usually do the wiring for anywhere from 60.00 to 150.00
