Default Who’s running P rated all terrains?

Yes, there’s a million threads on the subject. But I don’t want, “you have to run LT tires, because it’s a truck after all!” That’s not a real justification to me. I currently have 285/75/16 LT K02’s, and I’m just not happy with ride/mpg/etc.

Gonna switch to a 265/75/16 Hankook Dynapro non LT(114 load rating, 2600lbs rated at 44psi), run them on my frontier and love them. Occasional utility trailer hauling, car doly etc. never had a problem. Ride is much better than the Disco’s. Only slightly less gvw.

So. Who’s actually running them without issue on a D2? This is a daily duty vehicle, 2” lift, steel bumpers w/winch. Occasionally on light trails for kayaking trips/camping etc. I live in Ohio so nothing too crazy, not worried about sidewall punctures etc.

I'm not running P-Metrics on my D1, but I do have plenty of tire shop experience. Hankook makes a good tire & I've sold/installed a lot in the past. It appears that the P-Metric will suit your application just fine. Unless you're doing regular off-road or unfinished road driving, you really don't need a heavier duty tire. I do drive A LOT of oilfield lease roads and I need a tougher tire. I am considering 8 ply tires instead of 10 plies just for a little better on-road comfort. The only thing I would suggest is to look at a 6 ply (load range C) tire. Tougher and higher load rating than a P-Metric, but cheaper & smoother ride than an 8 or 10 ply(D & E load rating). The Disco is a heavy truck & can benefit from stronger rubber. Lastly, being a 245/75r16 you have all load ratings available to choose from.
