Red face windshield washer tank removal?

I am trying to remove it so I can fix the obnoxious leak!

How the @#$% am I supposed to remove the tank if the two nuts in fender well are spinning freely? The top two bolts/brackets weren't even connected, so that was easy. Short of just side grinding the bolts off, is there anything else I can do?

I've already removed the ECU just to get crap outta the way, but I cannot see the bottom 2 bolts, making it difficult to "hold" them still.

ANY and ALL suggestions are welcome, including and not limited to major destruction of said tank...

Thanks!

So I see you are pretty mad already and I have to admit that you must be careful because its super easy to break. I tried it on my parts truck and even my little hands weren't able to get to the other bolts. Let me know how you did it. That task is unfinished for me and need to get it out too.

I think I will end up just ripping the bolts off with a side grinder. I can always replace bolts. No big deal. Just thought maybe, just maybe, there was an easier way. But that would be hypocritical of me, as I'm always telling my daughters, "Just because it's easier, doesn't make it better." Fark.

I have a 96 Disco 1 -

I was able to reach down behind the tank, up against the firewall with a L O N G Philips head screw driver and, holding the nut under the fender well with a nut driver, unscrew them.

It was a PITA!

I ended up taking a crowbar to mine. One of these days when I'm not a mallcrawler I think I may fab up a dual battery tray where it used to be

Rave says "Step 1, Remove front bumper." Although I didn't do it myself, I'm convinced, from inspection and experience, that the reservoir can be removed by removing the front fender liner, and the left front bumper finisher. I had to remove the finisher to replace the condenser fan, and removed the fender liner to repair my washer situation (filled with sand and burned up pumps.)

Thanks Nick, but my truck is a D1 not a D2. On D1, the washer reservoir is on the firewall passenger side.

honda50r, i like that idea and may do that one day as that i will want a winch eventually.

JC Speiser... thank you sir, I will try that first.

Hmm. Find a friend with small hands? I was able to get it in and out but didn't really pay attention how I did it.
