Hi there!!! Any one here got headers on a 4.6 disco?? or maybe can tell me how to increase my HP..... Already got knn air filter, str8 pipes exhaust with cat's, snorkel and hydraulic fans.... I was wandering on installing headers. This is an off road truck on 35" pit bulls tires.. And it is daily driven as well. pictures on my profile.... Help !!!

 

First, get rid of the K&N air filter, beside being one of the dirtest filter ever when it comes to contaminating your oil, it will, at some point kill your MAF and they are not cheap.
As for the headers, they will sound neat, and probably give you a little extra horse power, but without reworking the head also to all more air to flow, they just don't give you much bang for the buck.

 

I'm getting my 4.6 rebuilt and will be putting the headers that came off of my Classic in my '03 DII. I just got the block back with new sleeves and should get my custom ground cam from the machinest next week and hopefully it will back together in a couple weeks. Can't wait to get back in it, the 4.6 should take to the mods nicely.

 

You might also want to have the heads opened up, other wise, you will have a big breathing cam, some flow restricting heads and a good set of headers.

 

Hey!!! How's the 4.6 with cams and headers is running??? Where can i get the cam and headers? Im about the start getting all the necesary parts to rebuild my 4.6. It had 150k miles already and still run like a champ, no oil leaks and the oil pressure is beautiful. I wanna get everything needit to boost those hp on the D2!!!
