So recently while driving my 2008 LRS SE with 88k miles I kept noticing a very loud sound from the back two wheels. The best way I can describe it is as a humming noise. Anyways, I took it to the Land Rover dealer and they didn't really think much of it and blamed it on the condition of the tires. I knew this wasn't right so I took it elsewhere to get the vehicle inspected. Turns out I was right; it wasn't the tires. The rear differential bearings were out as well as the shocks of the vehicle were leaking oil. That was a surprise. Turns out to be a ~$800 in parts and ~$1700 in labor to get the shocks in the rear, both left and right, replaced as well as getting the rear differential bearings and the miscellaneous parts that came with it. Total of ~$2700 in repairs, good thing I got warranty!!!
Pretty shocked to see the rear differential bearings out considering since I purchased the vehicle at ~67k miles no off road driving has been done. This is the second repair I've done on the vehicle with the first one being an AC issue. GET WARRANTY WITH THIS CAR. So worth it, already making a profit in terms of warranty/repair costs!
