Default …itty shifting

My LR2 slams and bangs when downshifting when trying to pass /overtake the lane. If I am at all aggressive with the accelerated this occurs. The rear dif was redone right before I bought it . Been this way ever since. 20k miles ago. Possibilities? Thank you. 2008 LR2 145k miles.

Most likely need new motor mounts.

Inspect the torque link (near the coolant reservoir)... if the rubber is torn it's obviously bad, and the lower right motor mount as well. At 145K I'd replace all the mounts unless you know it's been done recently.

Also fresh tranny fluid (OEM spec) will make a noticeable difference as well, I do that every 50K. Any longer and I notice it.

There are threads about the right fluid and how to change it. I use AISIN ATF-0T4 (Aisin is the tranny OEM). Anything with JWS 3309 spec should be good for the 2008.

You can DIY all of that, but the fluid change has to be done a certain way. Look for my post at the end of this long thread...
