2010 LR2 Passengers Exterior Mirror Broken
My 2010 LR2 passenger's exterior mirror broke when folding it back (similar to the picture below). What actually broke? Is there a fix or work-around other than purchasing a replacement exterior mirror? This LR2 does not have the puddle lamp or auto folding mirrors.

The grey tube must be held in by the large spring. The LR2 design is opposite to the Chevy in the video above. I will need to look for the spring and nut in the lower compartment that attaches to the door. .
I couldn't figure out why the shaft for the pivot was so short. It dawned on me that the rest of the pivot shaft is in the top half of the mirror. There is most likely a spring there too. The bottom end of that pivot shaft must connect to the hole in the bottom section somehow.
Does anyone know if I remove the mirror glass and motor from the top of the mirror assembly, is there access to the top of the pivot shaft for a repair?
