Hello everyone, tonight has been rough. I went to get a pizza and when I came out to go home my truck wouldn’t start. All the lights come on with music, etc so I have no idea what it could be. AAA tested my battery which was good. I plan to buy a code reader in the morning to see what comes up. What are you guys thoughts?

No it doesn’t crank

 

How old is the battery? These cars are very sensitive to any battery weakness. If it's 4-5 years old or older I'd probably just replace it with a good one.

Also try a computer reset:
Disconnect both battery cables.
Wait ten minutes
Touch battery cable ends together
Wait ten
Connect battery
Wait ten
Insert key fob (don't turn on)
Wait ten
Turn car systems on, but not the motor (with foot off brake, press and hold start button for a few seconds)
Wait ten
Start engine, drive around a bit

Other than that, best guess would be the starter, those will fail eventually after 100K miles. It's a fairly easy DIY, IIRC, and not too expensive if you get an aftermarket or rebuild. But might as well check for codes.

 

Could be the starter behind the engine guard, under the engine. Give it a whack and see if that makes a difference. If it does, replace the starter.

My code reader said abnormal battery so I purchased another battery and my truck still won’t crank. Now I have to return this battery. I tried the code reader on the new battery and it says the same thing abnormal battery. I’m going to try the reset next, because I have no idea what the issue is. However my brake is not pressing down either. Thank you guys do much. This is so frustrating

A faulty starter will absolutely drain your battery. If you don't fix it it can drain it to the point of making the battery unusable.
