Default 2011 LR2 - Installing radio into dash cubby

Has anyone had any difficulties with their aftermarket Android radio that they installed? Specifically if you didn't have a navigation installed when you bought it. Just a hole. I've been told that android systems stop malfunction soon after installed.

I can't find anyone willing to do it for me, so I might do it myself. I know little about cars and I don't want to do it if it's going to mess up afterwards.

Also, any radio recommendations? The cubby hole is pretty small for a screen and a din (is that what they call it? Idk).
