2015 LR2 iPhone GPS issue and adding Carplay
2 semi related questions:
First, has anyone had issues with their iPhone GPS not working in their LR2? Every time I try to use any nav app on my iPhone (apple maps, google maps, waze) while in my LR2 it seems to freak out with really delayed and inaccurate location updates that render the apps useless even when the phone is placed on the dash with full exposure through the windshield. The phone and internet work fine, only the GPS seems to have issues. I've tried different iPhones (SE, 6S, XS) with the same results. I previously had a 2008 LR2 and the iPhone GPS worked great in that car so not sure what would have changed to make the iPhone freak out in the newer LR2, did they change the metal in the windshield heater to turn it into a faraday cage or something?
And has anyone managed to successfully install Carplay into a 2013-2015 LR2 either via a full headunit upgrade or other solution or is that a no-go since the stereo controls are custom fit? I've seen a couple systems like NavPlay that plug into the existing screen but they seem kind of janky and so far all seem to lack touchscreen control, requiring you to use a remote or the phone to control it but if anyone has had success with something like that I'd give it a shot.
Thanks
