Bluetooth for 2011 LR2
I know there has been a lot of Bluetooth info here but would like the latest.
Have 2011 LR2 with no Bluetooth.... What's a solution without breaking the bank, very few wires, and effective. Would prefer solution that pairs with both ios and android. And works well for phone, streaming music, and car stereo

I had something like that years ago in an acura TSX, which like the LR2 has a very integrated (pre-BT) OEM stereo.
Might be hard to find these days, probably want to ask a shop that installs that kind of thing. When I had that installed in the TSX, I did ask about the LR2, he said it could be done but would be complicated. The only way the BT can "take over" the OEM sound system for incoming calls would be to splice into the speaker amp wires so the BT can disconnect the stereo input when it needs to.
For BT music it could probably be wired to the stereo aux input. I guess you could manually select stereo aux when you hear an incoming call on your phone, or just leave it aux all the time if you don't use FM or CD for music.
You see the problem. I don't think there's a cheap solution, since there's going to be wiring involved. But ask a shop.

If your system does include cellular functionality then either the bluetooth is broken, someone took it out, or you haven't been using it correctly.
There is no solution with very few wires. The simplest solution is a third party bluetooth speaker/mike that clips onto the visor, or get a Garmin GPS with the functionality.
There are a number of third party systems like that. I would suggest you shop very carefully and look for clear evidence that the system can interface with the car and the steering wheels controls. I know it can be done but I can't remember where I saw that.
Thanks for the replies and info
Got a on the cheap solution that may work.... or not. Saw another member post same problem and after much work, came to a simple solution.
A Bluetooth USB with built in short AUX cord. Will try on totally non-Bluetooth 2011 LR2 and 2006, just updated phone only Bluetooth 2011 LR3
Its a Bluetooth USB with short AUX cord... link below
Will let you know results, good and bad.
Quick off topic for Flyb5.... Love aviation. Most fun was owning and flying two seater SeaRey low and slow with over shorelines

Fyi.... Dakota Travler says GAP tool may update LR3 Bluetooth so will not need to bind phone and LR3 each time I get in. GAP seem to have done job after some re-flashing
So thanks DT

You should be able to use a cigarette lighter 12V to USB power supply, there's a 12V socket right next to the aux input on the rear console . Be careful though, the rear console 12V socket stays powered at all times. That creates two potential problems:
1. Constant battery drain. I leave a USB power supply in that socket all the time, but as long as nothing is plugged in to charge the current draw is negligible for the big LR2 battery, basically just an LED. But the bluetooth dongle will draw a little more power. My guess is it will be fine overnight or for a day or two but I wouldn't go on vacation for a week+ and leave it plugged in.
2. If it stays powered, the dongle will try to stay connected to your phone... if your garage/parking spot is near your house, it might be able to do that so phone calls would be directed to the car, not the phone's speaker. Might need to unplug the dongle when you get out of the car to avoid that.
This is similar to how I use my phone for music in the LR2... except I just use an audio cable and plug it in to the console aux input. I may actually but one of these gadgets though, just so I don't have to plug the phone in every time.
