Default Corroded/rusty wheel arch edges / sill?

Hi. New to the forum and looking for a Freelander 2 here in Sweden. I found one car that is rather corroded and rusty in the front of the wheel wells down to the sill. Even the outer sill surface (that meets up with the door sealing) was rusty. Is that a common problem (caused by a rather risky design) or was this a one of?
Will try to find even more cars to look at and have a check but they are not very common here.

Any other common faults by the way?

Thanks!

It's only common when people own cars and are not careful about rinsing the underside when there is salt on the roads. A simple trip through a carwash with undercarriage sprays takes care of that, Look for something that has been better taken care of.

Makes me happy to hear
I will have a look at a bit more expensive, but also better equipped and in better shape tomorrow. Exited!
