Default Do 2008 LR2 SE have TPMS?

My front tire was down to 11 pounds psi and there was no TPMS error light on the dashboard. Was TPMS in use in 2008?

Yes. Looks like your sensors need to be replaced. Get the correct ones for the car as they DO NOT need to be programmed. They will reprogram themselves after about 15 minutes of driving. I only use Continental/VDO sensors. And don't just change one. Yours have likely never been changed, all four should be replaced.

Tom,

Do a very basic test first.

Put the spare tire on in place of one of the regular Wheel.

The spare likely won't have a TPMS (My Steel Spare definitely does not)

This should set the TPMS light (its yellow and looks like a Horseshoe with a ! in the center)

If you have an aluminum spare then take a picture of the valve stem and post it.

And while you are at it post a picture of the valve stem for the tire that was at 11 PSI.

If the Spare won't set the light then you have a different problem with your TPMS (possibly the previous owner disabled it)

One last thought..........you didn't say where you are.........2008 LR2 American spec TPMS = yes........2008 FREELANDER 2 outside US I think yes but it may vary by country.

Good luck

Paul

Thanks for the info. I ended up gwwtting new tires today and saw the worker servicing the existing TPMS sensors on the wheels. It turns out that the info screen on my dashboard is not working and that's most likely where the TPMS warning would have popped up. Thanks for the replies.

Wait, your info screen is completely dark and does not display ANY info?
