Freelander 2 2.2 td4 glow plug module
Hi , i want to find out if the freelander 2 has a glow plug module. On the obd2 scanner code P0380 came up. All the fuses and relay is fine. Is there any advice out there.
I am not familiar with the TD models, but if I am reading the service manual correctly, there are four glow plugs, and you need to remove the intake manifold to get to them. There is no separate glow plug module, they are controlled from the ECM. Maybe you blew the fusible link through which they are powered. That's in the ECM.

There's also a relay, R114 on the diagram I'm looking at which is for the early year diesel.
Might be worth tracing out as much of the wiring as you can, I've had two instances where my engine harnesses got worn down to bare wire (once rodents, the other chaffing). Other than that I'd agree with flybd5... bad glow plug since they get a lot of abuse in there. You may be able to troubleshoot the glow plugs without removing them if you can access their wire harness or terminal connectors. They should have a low resistance, single digit ohms. Zero ohms is bad, open circuit is bad. They ground to the block, so measure between their terminal (or whatever wire harness connector you can access) and a good ground on the block as close to the glow plug as you can get.
Also maybe look on this forum, it's mostly Brits and they mostly have diesel FL2/LR2. This site is mostly North America, and we mostly have the gas i6 engine. Shop manual and wiring diagram is available for pdf download in the General forum...
