Default Gas Gauge Problems

Hey everyone,

I have a 2007 LR2 and lately my gas gauge has been going crazy, I will fill up and then once it gets down to about 3/4 of a tank it just drops to empty, then it will shoot back up, then drop.

Any suggestions?

Sorry, I don't know the precise answer, but it sounds like an electrical problem.

I have a 2008 and it does the samething every so often. I have to turn the car off and restart it and sometimes a couple of times. I just took mine in the shop for its sched maint and told them about it and they have no idea why it randomly does that. They said just bring it in if it happens again so they can see it.

I have the same problem with my 2008 LR2, it's the Sender Unit in the gas tank that has to be replaced! Don't know why Land Rover doesn't do a recall on this? Many people have this issue!

Default fuel guage issues

My gauge has been doing the same thing intermittently for a year or so (2008 with 72,000) and now I just got a 'Check Engine' code p1346. I think it may be a fuel gauge code.
Any thoughts please.
Thanks.

mrgeemoney is right. We had same problem and it was the sending unit. Been great every since, so there is a fix.

there are two senders one on each side of the tank and you can't the second one separate from the pump. Plus you have to pull the driveshaft out and the entire fuel tank to get it out.

Very common, hell had a new one do it to me once.
