I didn't take any pictures during the install. I only have pictures of the end product.

@vivarover , email freemee@earthlink.net and thanks.
@kjmass1, the pictures on that link show a different user name. Did you change yours? I did like the photos and have seen some brackets used instead of a type of epooxy.

Default Magellan roadmate 1700 GPS problem

Hi There,

I am new member who recently purchased a 2011 LR2. I followed the previous thread on installing the Magellan roadmate GPS (I also added the Magellan back up camera, and Best buy tech service handled the installation). Recently my unit stopped working. If I start the car the GPS screen will never come on and the only way to make it work is to remove the front panel and press the one/off switch on the GPS to reboot the system. Anybody having the same issue? Any suggestions on what may be the problem and how to fix it?

Thanks

No my user account is kjmass1 on that site as well (page 2 of that thread). I think my images have disappeared I'll have to put them back up. Good to know about the mounts.

I had occasional trouble where the unit would not turn off with the car. I would hold the on button for 2 sec to turn on ACC, and then turn off and it would turn off.

I recently upgraded the unit's firmware through the magellan software, and have since had no problems.

Default iPad mounted in Land Rover LR2

I was able to simply mount my iPad mini in my LR2 to get full navigation and much more.

What particular model of the Magellan 1700 is this? Also do you rely upon the ion battery for power or do you connect with electrical system of car? Any particular trick to mounting it in the dash? Thanks for any suggestions.
