Default LR 2 reliability experience

I suffered with 2 Freelanders for 7.5 years and now, crazy me, am considering an LR2. Can anyone tell me if they are more reliable than the Freelanders were and easier to repair, please and thanks?

As in the previous post -LR2 is "Volvo in the LR skin" -except it turned out to be MORE reliable then my wife's XC90 (knock on wood x3).
I had an issue with no sound from radio (fixed by SW upgrade), and failed Master Cylinder (possibly caused improper brake change which I did myself).

The only 2 things I complain about now are: small rattles in the cabin, and last summer I had issue when on a hot and humid days LR2 would SOMEtimes require 2-3 attempts to start-happened very rarely, I hope LR can do SW upgrade at some point. I have not heard this problem from Volvo which is using same engine/tranny.

Also, u would not be fixing it for 4 years

The LR2 has been faring well in TrueDelta's Car Reliability Survey so far:

Land Rover LR2 reliability comparisons

It's average, but not far from "better than average." Updated result next week.

Well, I owned a Freelander for about 3 years, and my LR2 for a bit under 2 years...no comparison. The LR2 is far better a vehicle, and while not totally trouble free, I haven't had to put in 2 engines and fight for visitation rights with the dealership like I had to with the Freeloader.

The Freeloader was the worst vehicle I have ever owned.
