Default LR2 Capability?

I just bought my first LR2 a few months ago, and I'm just curious about the general off-road capability of the LR2. I eventually want to try to take my LR2 off-road, but I want to have some idea of what it can do so that I don't end up messing something up or embarrassing myself trying to do something the vehicle can't do. What have you all done with your LR2? (sand, mud, water, etc.)

Sand, mud, water, snow, any loose surface it is very good (tire dependent, obviously) but it is not designed for anything too extreme, so rock crawling, extreme inclines and such will give you issues.

I've never had an Evoque in the snow, but every other model, and with the only exception being if it is deep enough for ground clearance to be an issue, I would put the LR2 and its AWD system against any other Rover.

As long as you don't try and follow any purpose built trail vehicles, you should be more then fine with most things. Ground clearance and torque to the ground(no low range) are the biggest limiting factors.

I've had my 2013 LR2 out in deep sand 2 times. Initially, I had it in sand mode, but after 5 miles up a sandy wash, I switched back to regular mode and did the final 15 miles without issues. The sand mode was reving the engine more and holding the speed down. Get your LR2 out and start driving off road. You'll be amazed how it handles. Isn't that why you got it? Use common sense as mention above-not rock climbing like the crazy jeep affectionados. The hill descent mode is amazing. You don't have to touch the pedals or really steer other than to keep it in the direction you want to go. I took a tow strap, shovels and battery charger as well as plenty of water here in the desert. Take a friend or a wife with a nice picnic and get "off the beaten path" and enjoy. Good Luck.
