New to the LR2
I can tear anything in my house apart and put it back together from a washing machine to a furnace but I do not have that same confidence with a car. All this would need to be done by my mechanic. Maybe this isn't the car for me.
Like I said, it depends on the maintenance history of the truck. It will be the same with any vehicle you buy with that kind of mileage. The other option is to buy new with an extended warranty and not have to worry about it.
Heh. At 145k miles any car is likely to become a hobby/project if it doesn't have a good maintenance record. I bought mine because it was cheap and I could do most of the work myself, and it turned out to not be so hard to bring it up to snuff and make it a reliable short/long distance driver. This is why I am urging the OP to do the homework and not walk into it blindly....
It got a new clutch at 150K, but that was more because I wanted to go up one stage. I might replace the coil packs, supposedly those can get iffy after 200K.

For that price it better be squeaky clean and in great mechanical shape. I know used car prices have been edging up but this is a little steep for a 13 yr old SUV.

Related... though I paid more, much more (CDN 25K)
I did get a 2013, in 2016 with 40,000 km. LR all inclusive extended warranty for an additional 3 years or 160,000 km. It paid for the engine when it went.
Prices are berserk now.It will settle down for those who are patient. But I do occur with my colleague: the maintenance record had best be spotless. Or there are surprises coming.
