Default Proud New Owner!

Just received my 2008 LR2 fully optioned out with lighting, technology, and cold climate package on Thursday and love it! Got it used from a dealer with 12000 miles in Rimini Red at a great price. Everything works great and I am very happy with it.
Couple of questions:
Has anyone put the chrome door pillar covers on? As listed on ebay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=220269103826
Don't want it to look cheesy, but the sides can use some more trim.

Also, can anyone tell me the difference between the HSE and SE? To my understanding there is only one model available and it depended on the month the LR2 was produced - the earlier ones were SE and then the HSE came out late in 2007? The only differences I could tell was the fancier power seats / 19" wheels and a rear spoiler, anything else?

Thank you!

Congrats!

I also just picked up an 08 HSE in Rimini Red (without NAV).

The only other difference between an SE and an HSE other then the ones you already mentioned is the covered storage in the center panel (used to be open) and the bumper and side sills are now the same color as the rest of the body rather then being black - basically giving it a stronger and sportier stance.

Enjoy the ride..I know I have thus far.

Thanks! I am loving it. Only gripes I have is it is a little dark during the evenings - the lights do not seem that bright when illuminated, even the dash lights. Other than that all is good! Has anyone dared to try any of the power chips to increase gas mileage and horsepower?

I'm surprised you think the Xenon lighiting isn't bright enough. Perhaps there is a problem you should have the dealer look at. Mine are awesome. I have another car I occassionally drive and when I switch the the regular headlights in my other car I feel like I can't see anything. I even have people flashing their lights at me thinking my brights are on when I drive LR2 at night.

Actually I meant the interior lighting. The xenons are fantastic, they practically light up the entire sky when i turn them on. I am going to replace the interior dome lights with the LED ones - they are supposed to be alot brighter. Also i just purchased some chrome handles for the exterior as I feel the outside could be dressed up alittle bit. I'll follow up when I get both of those things put on....

xenons - there flashing you because even dim, people dont like seeing them, there to bright. the interior lighting u can turn up the dash lights. i wouldent reccomend replacing the dome lights with LEDs, they have a strange bright blue-white light, and blind you when you get in after being in a dark lot. had them in the bmw, got the replaced.
