Does anyone have a fairly precise measurement on how high off the LR2 the roof rails sit? I am concerned it won't fit in my garage with them on.

Height of my 2008 LR2 with roof rails is a little less than 72 in (190 cm)

With Cross Bars it's about half an inch taller.

I have 18" tires.

Thanks! I have the 19 inch wheels, and i added larger tires. Do you possibly know how high the rack sits off the roof of the vehicle?

It should only be about 3-4 inches (not including any ski/bike racks.

Default 2013 Roof Rails

Hey everyone, just bought a 2013 LR2 and am new to Land Rovers and the community. Very excited. I'm shopping for roof rails and am seeing aftermarket sets for pretty cheap that fit pre-2011 models. What has changed since 2011 and should I be leary of non-OEM rail sets? The dealer claims they only stock one kind now (theirs fits 2006-2013), but perhaps the older ones still work?

Thanks!

Welcome and congrats on the new ride. The LR2 was originally introduced in the UK as the Freelander in 2006. It arrived in the US as the L2 in 2008. The official part number for the Roof Rails is LR007220, and you can find this on the Land Rover website. It's interesting because some websites indicate that this part only fits 2006-2011, while other OEM part dealers including Land Rover's website indicate it is still current and fits 2006-2013.

You can always confirm the part number from the land rover website, then call a different dealer (not the one you spoke to) and verify that it fits 2013. Then just search the web for the cheapest price. I found FM Imports out of Ft. Lauderdale had the best price via ebay (they are a full LR Dealership). Great customer service. Also purchased the cross-bar kit from them.

Roof Rail Kit Part # LR007220
Cross-bar Kit Part # LR002417

Hope this helps.

Great info MRLR2 and thanks for the quick response. As I have not found anything anywhere as to why the 2011 OEM rails don't fit the 2013, I will check out the part numbers and go from there...this is a great forum!
