no particular reason I wouldn’t ask the garage, just thought it would be easier if I could find out myself that’s all

You will likely have to ask them. I think the only other way is to use the JLRSDD software with a Mongoose cable and a power supply to keep the electrical powered. Much easier to ask the garage.

Can’t see any issue with any tyres, manually checked and all at recommended psi.
my garage had checked the sensors initially as thought it would be a quick fix and no fault detected with these,
theyd tried trouble shooting and couldn’t fix it, and advised to take to LR

I haven’t checked the the storage space but I will do,
do you know what it is I’m looking for?
thank you very much
I was wondering if your spare tire has a TPMS sensor in it that's being detected with a problem. You can simply look at the spare tire and determine if the valve stem is TPMS or a regular valve stem (visually compare it to those on your other tires).

There's also a long-shot chance that the last mechanic who replaced them happended to throw one or more of the old ones into the spare tire storage area. That could be confusing to the TPMS receiver, as well.

However, if it still displays "TPMS fault", it's probably not related to tire pressure. Sounds like a problem in the system, as you indicated. Did you (or your shop) check for OBD codes using a scanner that has access to LR2 modules?

My local shop changed a sensor on my car (2014) when car was just a couple of years old - they damaged the unit changing to winter tires. They attempted to use a programmable unit from NAPA - it never worked. They had to get a unit from LR dealer before success. I got fed up with this (cost/time) and invested in a set of dedicated winter wheels & an Autel flash unit - 100% success. It just copies the ID of the original TPMS unit & transfers it to the new TPMS sensor, so the LR onboard computer instantly recognizes it. For future reference, the correct TPMS sensors for this truck never require programming or copying over of ID's. If you have the correct one it always comes programmed from the factory. You simply install it, drive 15 minutes and you are done. You also don't have to buy it from the dealer. My last one I picked up at Autozone.

Good to know - Manufacturer & P/N would be a good help for anyone getting TPMS sensors in the future - can you provide it? Thus they can be sure the TPMS sensor will actually work (when they hand it to the tire shop). Too many TPMS sensor mismatch associated with LRs in general (just check out the boards). I'll stick with my Autel solution as I have the flash tool now - I get an Autel sensor for $30 - what price did you pay at Autozone for the no flash solution ? thx

I don't have the Autozone receipt, but the p/n is LR031713. You can buy them new on eBay for as little as $35 for a set of 4.

That is an attractive price (eBay) but they come with risk (of not working) ref the numerous TPMS mis-matches referenced in LR forums - they are not the OEM part - and a potential massive hassle at the tire shop - buyer beware.

I have had no such problems, and eBay has a very good return policy. If it is a Continental/VDO part and has the right part number, it's the correct sensor. You are always welcome to spend more if you want.
