Hi guys!

I recently bought a used 2010 LR2. I noticed the Air vents in the Dash all have this whiteish powder on them.

Ive tried to clean it off with everything but ive had NO LUCK.

So far Ive tried Simple Green, Soap and Water, Steam Machine, Alcohol and a brillow pad.

Nothing seems to get this stuff off.

Im not sure what it is.. Possibly Airbag powder residue?

I checked the car-fax when I purchased the car and it was completely clean and I dont see any other traces of airbag deployment.

I went on eBay to try and possibly buy some used ones, but every one I could find had the same white stain on it.

Has anyone else had this issue and possibly solved it?

That's paint. Take it out, sand it a bit, mask the control tab and paint it any color you like.

 

I use this product for Oxidized black plastic

Could be paint... could be the result of a previous cleaning solution.
I'd try the cleaner with a toothbrush first.

 

Use a black sharpie

 

That will pass Ockham's Razor.
