Default 05 LR3 3rd Tail Light Question

My 2005 LR3 recently was vandalized and the 3rd brake light, above the rear window, was completely broken. I am in search of any helpful advice regarding the (methods - part numbers - location to purchase) of going about fixing this issue.

Thank you for your time

its glued in place, installs much like a piece of glass. your local dealership should have it in stock as it is required to be replaced whenever the gps antenna is replaced on an lr3, which is often enough

Hey thanks for the information. What would be the best method of going about replacing it? Is it worth trying to do it yourself or is it best just to go to Land Rover and have them do it. What is theballpark price LR would charge?

Thanks

call a glass company, someone that does windshields and such, get the part yourself. i know that at my dealership at least, we sublet stuff like that, and the cust gets charged a mark-up of what we do

That's a good tip. In this moronic design - where some engineer or accountant decided it wasn't feasible to screw the thing on - - it has blown off three times on my LR3. (The last time just happened today). I now carry duct tape for just such occasions. If LR jerks me around since it is out of warranty now (was in warranty the first two times) I will check out an auto glass place to glue it on. Maybe it'll stay for a few months this next time around. - - -

Opps - - - I'm so ticked off at this happening the third time and having the time/hassle/ and possible extra expense for a LR design flaw that I didn't notice this is an old thread. The glass company is still a good tip though. Last time the dealer 'fixed' it they sent it out to a glass company. At least this way I can shop around and not get shafted so bad on pricing. - -
