Default 1 of 4 Avon Tech STs gone .. what to do?

Love the Avon Tech STs I have on my LR3. Cheap as dirt, excellent performance.

Unfortunatley, one is gone and they are no longer available.

The tire shop I went to says I can replace 2 of the 4 and won't be adversely affected ride-wise. I'm not sure I buy this.

Considering the Nitto Terra Grapplers if I replace 2 of 4, since I'd need to stick w/ the 255/60/18 size.

If I replace all 4, also looking at the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor.

Would like to get the Cooper Zeon LTZs in 285, but I don't think I can justify those tires as I very rarely go off road.

Advice is appreciated.

How worn are they? If they are new, one is fine. Any more difference will mess up the ABS/DSC/TR systems.

Welcome Btw.

Thanks for the welcome, and your reply.

The Avons are about a year old, maybe 15k on them. Tread is still in great shape, though.

That said, I'll be replacing at least 2. I just want to make sure that 2 Avons in the front and 2 Nittos in the back won't be problematic/lousy performance.

I don't even mind ordering the Nittos and grabbing 2 more later if I don't like the mix w/ the Avons, the frustrating thing is that I'd likely size up above 255 if I was going to replace all 4 tires, as I keep reading that the 255s are too small to get the most out of the truck.

Really need to figure this out and order some tires already! Can't keep riding around on this donut at 50mph.

I assume you mean the Goodyear Wrangler HPs that were OEM (which were horrid)? I just want to be sure as I'm about to order 4 of the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor, which I've read seemingly nothing but good things about on the forums here and elsewhere.

They seem to be rated better than the Nittos, a bit bigger at 265 vs. 255, and a little less monster-truck looking, while still having a sporty/aggressive look.

I hope I've got this right.

Oh, also considering the Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 in 265/60/18. Reviews on this look great too, but I haven't seen much from Land Rover owners on these. They're $30 cheaper per tire than the Goodyears, and I'm still a bit anxious ordering Goodyears after my experience w/ the OEM tires.

Okay, another post. I hope I'm not driving everyone crazy.

I'm leaning towards the Hankook now. I can't find anything bad about them, four wheeler magazine gave them a great rating, and I still have Goodyear fear. Throw in the $30 savings per tire, and I think I'm about sold.

If anyone has any last minute warnings, I'm all ears.

Well, I ended up ordering the Hankooks. Will let you all know my initial impressions once they're mounted.
