Default 180 degree thermostat

Has anyone replaced the 190 degree thermostat with a 180 degree version?

Is there a 180F version for the 4.4L V8?

I am trying to find one and hoping someone else has found one that will fit the thermostat housing.

I’ve found a couple that are close but don’t fit.

My LR3 is running fine, I’m just curious what the engine temps would look like with a 180.

Is there a reason you're wanting to drop temps if it's running fine?

I'm curious about that too. Unless you have cooling system or engine problems, this vehicle has no problem maintaining rock solid, steady coolant temperatures.

I’m just curious.

I’m coming from the D2 world where Land Rover intentionally ran the engine for better emissions.

I believe a lot of modern engines, not just Land Rover run hotter for emissions but may be to the detriment of the engine in the long term.

The 4.4 V8 seems to be one of Land Rovers best engines but I’m still curious if any one had replaced the thermostat with one that opens earlier.
