Default 2005 LR3 - Gas Odor/misfiring cyl #4

I have a 2005 LR3 that is experincing rough idle at start and engine codes for misfile on cylinder #4. It also has a extreme gas odor. Trying to determine the issue. I checked the the fuel pressure and its around 65/71 PSI.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Erik

On this engine, generally a single cylinder dead misfire is due to a failing coil. Try and swap two of them and see if the misfire moves cylinders.

...then swap injectors, then try plugs, then look for wiring issues.

Good luck - very frustrating process. Going through this on my M3 race car with cylinder #2. Nothing has pinpointed the problem yet.

Default Part of problem found

I found part of the issue, on cold start and only cold start the fuel pressure accumulator on the fuel rail (right side) is leaking. Any info why this would only leak on a cold start?? Fuel pressure??

To update this thread. The accumulator on the pass side fuel rail was leaking on cold starts causing multiple cylinder miss codes. Fuel pressure was within spec. A new fuel rail was over $2200. Located a used one on car-parts.com from a junk yard is CA for $125 and it came with injectors. The OP and I replaced the rail and spark plugs on Saturday. Cleared the codes, started it up and it runs great.

The passenger side accumulator on the fuel rail was leaking. I purchased a rail from car-parts.com. All is fixed
