Default Thanks

I might just take it to a local Land Rover dealer and pay them to do some diagnostic work. I hate to do it, but I think you are correct about my scanner. I will post back with what I find out. Thanks once again and Merry Christmas!

Yeah, something is not quite right. Also I think if the yaw sensor is an issue, ABS should be down and out but you have no codes for that? From what I read the yaw sensor basically feeds the ABS info first which is in turn sent along the bus to any other interesting modules looking for that data.

No ABS codes but there is a yellow “brake” light on. We thought it was one of the brake pad wear sensors, but after replacing both sensors the light is still on. Parking brake works fine, all brake pads are within spec and all wheel speed sensors are functioning.

As far as I know the yellow brake pad warning light can come on for three reasons. Pad sensors, low brake fluid (although maybe it goes red then?) and if the parking brake system main fuse blows that light will come on as a backup. I would obviously check fluid level and make sure th brake fluid level sensor is plugged in - often unplugged to make cap removal easier. With that said, if you went with aftermarket pad sensors some do not plug in well to the harness. You either have to push hard or trim a bit off the plug end so it can fit in deeper. I found that with a couple brands. If you really want to verify operation you can jumper the pins in the connectors to complete the circuit.

Default 'Update'!!

So I took the vehicle to a "LR Specialist" in my area where I spoke to one of their service advisors. I explained to them what my issues were with the vehicle (see above posts) and they told me that since the air bag suspension had been removed, none of the various "terrain" modes will work no matter what I do unless I reinstall the air ride suspension. I'm ok with that answer, but can anyone here verify that is the correct? Has anyone been able to get their terrain modes to work without air suspension?
I also visited a local Land Rover Dealership and they basically told me the same thing.
One thing that I would like to know is if there's a way to lock all four wheels in 4wd? I understand the vehicle is full time AWD, but when driving in snow or sand I've noticed only one front wheel and one rear wheel will engage if the vehicle is in slippery conditions. Is this normal or is it a symptom of the terrain modes not working?
I've gone ahead and ordered a factory repair manual for the vehicle and I'm going to try and dig deeper into this thing. I've also looked online at Amazon for air suspension replacement parts. I can purchase all four air shocks, a new compressor and height sensors for ~$800. Would I need anything else (other than the air supply lines) to get the air suspension up and running? It does look like the electrical connectors for the air compressor are still on the vehicle.

Default More....

I just spoke to Gary at Atlantic British. He told me that they sell a module that plugs into the ECU which "fools" the vehicle's computer into thinking that the air suspension is still installed in the vehicle. This module supposedly enables the terrain mode switch to function. This is the link to AB's instructions to install their coil kit and module: https://www.roverparts.com/Instructi...tions-2021.cfm
The only issue is AB wants $600 for the module! I wonder if there's a way to fool the computer without purchasing the module?

I am aware of no other way to fool the computer. Maybe check with GAP, I thought they had a module or sorts also. In fact there might be a couple Rover specific sellers in the UK that have their own version as well. But I can say that people have tried to edit the CCF (car configuration file) with no luck. Even though some Rovers sold with springs, editing the truck's file to say it has them does not seem to work. I can only assume there is a module installed, maybe the terrain module itself, that must be hard wired some way. It may be worth looking into the UK forums and seeing if there is some sorta "factory" solution by simply swapping a module. I think it is rather silly that the only option is some $600 device that probably only costs $10 to make.

Buy the module or re-install the EAS, lots of people have the same issue after either doing the coil conversion without the module or buying a vehicle that PO converted on the cheap without the module.
I'm not aware of any other work around.
I have a friend that purchased a converted vehicle without the module and i'm going to see if we can convert it back to EAS, all the lines and sensors are still there and the compressor.
I have a spare compressor and kept my old front struts which mostly hold air and will be fine for testing purposes.

Default Short Update

I contacted Dunlop Suspension to inquire about purchasing the EAS Disable Module directly from them, but one of their salespeople told me they won’t sell it outside of purchasing their entire coil spring kit. Not sure how AB is able to sell just the module, but that’s what I was told. Anyway…Merry Christmas to all!!✌️✌️
