Default 2006 LR 3 Problem with driver side seat controls

Hi there,
a couple months ago my 2006 LR 3’s driver side power seat controls stopped working. Now that it is a “little” warmer here in the NorthEast I am going to tackle this issue. Am wondering if anyone has had this issue? So according to my son, who mostly drives this vehicle, he was simply adjusting the seat position and they stopped. And unfortunately for the rest of us, he is a big boy, 6’4””, and the rest of us who used to drive it are not. If I need to drive I have to use several cushions to reach and see everything.. I was going to start with removing the entire seat first to even be able to see what is going on underneath, unless someone has a better idea?

Nothing works at all? Fuse? But it is common for the switches to carbon up and certain functions start to fail - like being able to raise the front but not lower, etc. You should not have to remove the seat, it is not very often that there is a wiring issue or such.

Default 2006 LR 3 driver side seat issue

Hi, thank you for the reply. And yes, nothing works at all. It is as if everything is frozen. I’m pretty sure I checked the fuse back when it first occurred, but I will check again to make sure. I’m wondering if the electrical “reset” would work of removing both battery cables and clamping them together? But it could just be that the controls have failed as it does have about 170 K on the odometer. I did try to look underneath the seat to see if there was something unplugged or jammed but did not see anything.
