2006 lr3
LR3 I bought four years ago and have never worried about it as it was no a big deal. Recently I had the floor console apart and I was trying to find the issue. With the Key out on the Floor console the "D" is lit red 24x7 and the sport mode or command shift does not work. If I look on the dash and slide the selector to the right the dash nor console change. I have no codes no errors my battery is new and I have no other issues besides this. any help would be great thanks in advance.
The command shift never changes if I pull it to the left and move up and down the gears do not change.
The console shows drive 24x7 even if I come out the next morning the "D" is still lit up.
On the dash the drive letters appear correct as I shift from "P-R-N-D".
Thanks for your help!

My 2005 has the exact same problems. D is lit, manual shift mode doesn't work, nor does sport mode (when it's pushed to the left)
My theory is it's in the electronics within the shifter, but I've found it causes me zero issue so not on the top of my list. I expected I would really want the manual mode for offroading but I've found it actually doesn't misbehave at all just left in auto.

I would agree, it is probably in the electronics in the shifter. I cringe if a drop of water gets on the console. By the design, if something wet gets on that, it's going right down the shifter area.
If you where to remove the center console you could check the wiring, and perhaps swap that unit out.

I thought the same so I took the console apart and tested and cleaned all the connections but the problem still persist. I can so no ties from the circuit board that controls the PRND to the manual shift?
