Question 2008 LR3 SE 2.7TDi Engine Cuts out at high speed

Hello all, hoping you can help. I had my engine replaced with a 2nd hand about 15000km ago. 2008 LR3, 2.7 TDi, SE, 255000km. Crank snapped.

On the replacement engine, I replaced the below:
Pump Oil D3/D4/RRS 13+/2.7/3.0 LR
Pump Water D3/RRS 2.7L TDV6 GENUINE
Timing Belt Kit Long TDV6 3.0&2.7
Timing Idler Pulley D3/4/RRS 2.7/3.0TDV6
Timing Belt Kit TDV6 2.7L Short Inj Pump
Filter Air Disco 3/4 RRover 4.2 SCharge
Filter Oil Discovery 3 2.7 TDV6
Filter Pollen Discovery 3/4&RR Sport
Filter Fuel D3/RRS 07+/D4 TDV6 LR
Water Connector D3 2.7/D4/RRBB/RRS
Expansion Tank incl. Sensor D3/D4/RRS
One immediate difference was the slower than usual ignition when starting engine. It ticks for about 4 seconds and then start. Before (with the original engine) it was about a second.. I didn’t have to hold the key in ignition phase. It would start almost immediately after swinging key once and letting go. As I have always started any car.

The other major difference & issue is when travelling for more than about 1 hour at 110km/h, the engine completely turns off. The Christmas lights come on, F mode, no steering or hydraulics, HDC fault, Special programs off, suspension access hight, transmission fault etc. Seems a complete engine and electrical failure and I need to wait about 15 minutes for everything to cool down before it starts up again. Otherwise is just click and clicks and after 10 seconds the same lights come on and bing bing etc.. Radio remains on, I can enable hazard lights..

Once started after cooling down, same happens after another few minutes of travelling at any speed above 100km/h. I've attempted driving with no AC / Air completely off, no Radio and no serious load...

Could this be a dying diesel pump, Needs new glow plug, Oil cooler needs replacing, Ignition Coil, Main relay, Crank Sensor?

Fuel economy pretty normal and consistent..

Any help is appreciated 🙌

Quick update after much googling and digital troubleshooting.

Im going to replace the Crank Sensor Position Part No: LR009793

If that doesn't solve it, I will replace the two Camshaft Position sensors Part No: LR019287

Will update once installed

No diesel option in North America so your best bet is the Disco3 UK based forum, i wouldn't replace anything without getting the codes read with a decent diagnostic reader not a cheap one as you need the full code.
What country are you in by the way ?

Did you find out what was the issue?

I just bought a Disco 3, two days ago from a dealer here in Norway. After 10 km in around about 100-110 kmh I had the exact same think. Xmas lights and lowering of the car.

(When I test drove it a week earlier the long intercooler pipe loosened and smoke came from the motor)
I had it in my driveway an hours time and suddenly it worked again. I did a google search and found lots of "fixes" so I went to a local garage to change battery. On the way there the engine started smoking again. This time it was a diesel connection to the motor. That was fixed quickly. Drove up to the dealer to have a talk, because the back door didnt open. (Usual error I know). With a little jostle I got it open and it got prepared for that fix. On the way home, exact same place around 100 kmh I got transmission error and lowered suspension. I stopped, reversed, changed gears manually and turned engine off and on and the car worked again so far

But I would rather have it fixed then it happing on a trip I have planned this summer.

T.
