Default Ac Delco Water pump

Hi, I am new to the forum, though I have been reading it for years. Have 2008 LR3 4.4 about 123k, owned since 2010. Recently, I was about to replace the water pump and ordered ac delco one after reading numerous reviews. Noticed. once I got to it, that there is less bolt holes on it. Ac Delco has 5 and normal pump has 7. I checked the water pump online and it is the correct model from Ac Delco. Decided to button up everything until I checked it out. Any feedback or experience? Greatly appreciated.

The AC Delco pump is a single piece body vs. the other two-piece pumps. Two of the bolts on the two-piece pumps only hold the halves together and do not bolt through to the engine block.

Hi P Bod, thank you for the quick reply. I looked it up this morning and you just corroborated my suspicion. I will be installing the pump today. Now that i have been in it once before, it will be a breeze to do it. Thank you again..

Make sure you lubricate the o-ring that it comes with. I thought I did with mine and STILL pinched it.... So take care in installing it.

Oh I already put it in. It went fine. But I could see how that would be really helpful. Good tip.
