Default yes

The compressor is the same from 2005 to 2008 so you will be OK with a compressor off a 2006 LR3.

you can actually use the compressor out of several different years. I found one out of a 2011 that was the original style. Paid about $130 delivered. Had very low miles and so far has worked great. Check on car-parts.com and search around. Squirt a bit of wd-40 on the hoses fittings before you get ready to take them off, it will save you time, frustration and time at the confessional for words you shouldn't say, ask me how I know.......Good luck.

Yes. The original hitachi compressor and the AMK compress use different software in the ride level module. Even if you stick with the hitachi, there is updated software that is supposed to make them run cooler. I've been happy with my old hitachi with a new drier and updated software.

I've found the AMK units to be much quieter then the Hitachi. Only times I've had a noisy one is when the upper half of the plastic shell was not properly installed behind the mounting bracket for the valve block, causing it to vibrate.
