Default Alpaca Beige Leather: ruined?

Before buying our LR3 in November of 2005, I went the the Seattle Auto Show, to look at our potential future car. The leather in their was the beige, and after seeing the official pictures of the interior, we were sold on the beige and thought that it looked better and more "homely" than the ebony black. But after seeing the ruined interior at the auto show, we had second thoughts. The leather was almost completely ruined with a-lot of grey on the bottom of the backrest, and that was on the first few days of the auto show, and it shouldn't be like that on a $50,000 truck! So, we got the black leather and we are very pleased with it, but for anyone with thebeige leather, and i'm just curious, how doyourseats look now?

Two kids and two years later the leather is lookign great actually!! I am surprised. The beige cloth in the trunk/cargo area however is beginning to look a little dark - but the leather seats are good :-)

I went black inside mine as well for the same reason. I actually use my cargo space and I didn't want to be walking on egg shells everytime a friend needs help with some "stuff" taken somewhere. A year later, with much use and abuse, my black interior is like new.

The driver seat is starting to show a little wear, but still looks good. I treat it about every 4-6 months with the LR leather treatment. The stuff keeps the leather from drying out. I really like the Alpaca Beige, and to get over the wear/tear in rear, I have the rubber mat that protects it. When I need the 7 pass, I just roll the mat up.
