I have on 06, on black round plastic baseopposite the one with the tab you depress to raise the headrest is a tab that is flush with the round base. You have to look hard to see it. With the headrest all the way up, press both tabs and push the headrest up, it will come all the way out.

Glad you found the secret button. I had given up on removing them until I read about the secret button in another forum.
