Default Apple Car Play for LR3 from Best Buy

So I got a quote from Best Buy for a Kenwood touchscreen Apple Car Play for $1227 total. This includes a $400 wiring harness, steering wheel wiring, a $130 dash kit, and a backup camera.

Does this sound about right? The wiring harness was a killer. I was tempted to see if there was anything else out there on the market in terms of wiring harnesses.

That sounds pretty good...I was quoted over $3k Canadian to do mine. What head unit?

Are they hooking it up to the existing fibre optic amp?

Head unit meaning the radio? It's a Kenwood Double DIN touchscreen. It was $350 but I think they had it on sale for around $275

Yeah - the double DIN unit...you should ask how they're planning to hook it to your speakers etc. That price I was quote included a new amp to replace the other one.

No mention of a new amp. The specs showed that it would need the following:

- Wiring harness - $399
- Dash kit - $129
- Steering wheel wiring kit - $69
- Head unit - $275
- Camera - $79
- Installation - $200
- 8.75% tax

Wow some pretty rich pricing, mine was $185aud for dash/harness kit and $215aud for the 7" double din android head unit.My SE had the base stereo with no amp but i do have the sub in the tailgate.
This gave me android auto and apple carplay, GPS, BT,WIFI,dash cam, reverse cam and mutliple USB and AV ports for accessories.

I think what kicked my rear was a $400 wiring harness.

I agree that harness is salty. I would be curious to see if it maintains the functionality of the clock in the dash and steering wheel controls.

Heck that stereo install costs more than the 06 LR3 I just bought

You know, I forgot to bring that up! I paid $70-ish for steering wheel wiring, and no, it no longer keeps the clock. So that's a bit of a downside. But teenagers don't want to know the time, they just want to listen to their tunes.

That sucks wonder what the $400 harness did aside from hook up the speakers and kick on the amp
