Area beneath carpets soaking wet
Hi
I did not notice anything amiss until I took my LR3 (2005 HE) to a car wash.. the vehicle failed to properly engage with the pull through and shook violently until I backed off and re-engaged. All seemingly went well after that. A couple of days later I took out the weathertec liners to clean them and noticed the carpet was very wet. I dried it using a carpet cleaner and wet vac and all seemed well again until... The carpet appeared wet again. This time I lifted as much as I could and behold, the entire carpet, liner and floorpan was awash...
I wondered whether the shaking had dislodged anything, like the large plastic 'plug' *(what is that?) beneath the front passenger side, or if it is coming in from elsewhere. We did have a ton of snow which melted off the vehicle a couple of weeks after my initial discovery and dry-out but I cannot say for certain that the two wettings are connected.
ANY ideas would be gratefully accepted! Also the central locking has not failed.. I understand that the wiring for this runs in a gully beneath the cover between tyhe carpet and the door sill so maybe the fact that it too is flooded is somehow connected?
Thanks guys!

I had water pouring onto passenger floor board a couple years back.
It proved to be the drain tube from the sunroof.
Ordered this replacement off Amazon.
I used this video to complete the repair.
Worked great for me, I hope it does for you.

I agree with the other guys on this thread it's surely the sunroof drain tubes. I had the same issue with mine but it didn't cause any electrical problems and I had water pouring out of the airbag sensor on the A pillar.
You could also try a quick easy fix of blowing compressed air through the line and that may force out the built up gunk in the line. Replacement will obviously be a wiser choice though!

I had to do this repair a couple of years ago and just want to warn you that it is quite tedious. Getting to and removing the Central Junction Box is a pain. The actual repair was pretty simple, but I found the whole process frustrating. That said, it is now fixed and hasn't leaked. I am glad I did it but wish someone had warned me before starting it.
