for ‘05 to ‘14 Land Rover Discovery III/LR3,
Discovery IV/LR4 and ‘06 to ‘13 Range Rover Sport
Arnott Air Suspension Productsannounced it has added a new air suspension compressor to its line of OES replacement pumps with the introduction of an AMK pump for the 2005 to 2014 Land Rover Discovery III and LR3, the 2005 to 2014 Discovery IV and LR4, the 2006 to 2009 Range Rover Sport including Supercharged, and the 2010 to 2013 Range Rover Sport excluding Supercharged.
The AMK compressor is made by the same company the OE uses to replace the original Hitachi pump. OEM numbers are: LR045251, LR015303, and LR023964.
This compact, maintenance-free AMK compressor -- Arnott Part Number P-2645 -- retails for $699.80. Arnott assembles this pump in the USA with a vehicle-specific support bracket to ensure a fast and easy installation. The energy-efficient, quiet compressor comes with an integrated air dryer unit, 18-piece vibration isolator kit, new airline fittings, electrical connection, compressor pressure hose, and a new compressor relay.
Features:
* Modular and Compact Design
* Maintenance-Free Design
* Includes Dryer and Compressor Relay
* Pre-assembled with Support Brackets
* Detailed Installation Manual
The part is backed by Arnott's Two-Year Limited Warranty.
Additional Aftermarket Innovations
While the highlighted Air Suspension Compressor is a reliable and affordable solution for Land Rover owners concerned about failing air compressors leaving them stranded with expensive and recurring maintenance problems, Arnott offers additional, innovative aftermarket parts for the Land Rover. For example, Arnott has designed its own Right or Left Front Air Suspension Strut for the 2010 to 2014 Land Rover Discovery IV and LR4, as well as the 2005 to 2009 Land Rover Discovery III/LR 3, the 2006 to 2009 Land Rover Range Rover Sport including Supercharged, and the 2010 to 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport excluding Supercharged. Available as Arnott Part AS-2570, the Air Struts are new, not remanufactured, and feature a custom-made and tune monotube shock absorber.

After reading the install instructions on your web site and per the link below, it would appear that you are reusing the original factory black plastic upper and lower case sections. As such, that makes the install much easier and I guess re mods, if the old case fit prior, it still will after. That is good news.
I noticed a comment on page 8/11 re installation where if says to "reuse the factory mounting hardware". If that includes those three speed nuts/spring clips that are usually so rusted as to break upon removal, I would suggest that new clips be provided with the kit.
Other than that, I can only wonder why LR did not come up with this concept or is there something we are not being told - noise or vibration perhaps? I presume it is the same compressor LR now uses but in a better package? The kit appears too good to be true.

Thanks for the feedback.
I checked with engineering and they are unfamiliar with the mounting design and dimensions for the Rock Sliders, however, we currently do not re-use the factory black plastic upper and lower case sections. The factory case will not fit over an AMK compressor. The good news is that we are developing a new case and it will soon be provided with the kit.
They are interested in knowing if the aftermarket rock sliders fit our assembly (even after we supply the case). Any feedback on this I would be appreciated.
As you know Land Rover started replacing the original Hitachi design due to issues. We think our design will be much more stable and long lasting.

The issue is , that LR and AMK came up with a bigger , bulkier compressor.They should design it with a original space available and not go lower with a bracket and unit itself.Right now , AMK looks like a tit , hanging down , on the pregnant pig and all of us , who dropped 1400 USD on rock sliders , some tome a go , got left hanging...,in order to fit a new compressor , a foot of the sliders has to be chopped out and brought over to a welding specialist for a make up, that has to go even lower , then before.That is just not fair to the entire LR3 community., who purchased RS sliders, per example..
So, until issue is resolved, if ever, I will stick to the original Hitachi, replacing dryer and springs, every 50 000 miles-says a guy, who is still on the original compressor, since '05 .
I don't think it is a bad design,only lack of proper maintenance in time, such as new dryer and compressor overhaul kit, that has been available for years.

It sounds like I totally misunderstood the Arnott instructions. I incorrectly assumes that as the instructions were silent with regards to the case that the LR original Hitachi case was still to be reused.
Now if I understand correctly, I was wrong in my assumption.
It now sounds like one will have to purchase a new bigger? deeper? case to install the Arnott AMK, just as one does with the LR dealer supplied AMK.
Maybe Arnott can relook at their AMK offering again and figure out how to remain with the existing original Hitachi case - that would be a product worth buying regardless of cost as it would be an improvement on the LR current offering.
I do not have rock sliders and my goal is to stay on the road, (going off road bad, remaining on the road, good); but up here we can get snow as per Buffalo today and 6 feet drifts grab parts hanging down and tend to get battered by ice ridges.
There is opportunity here rather than just "me too".
