Default Automatic rain sensors

Here is my question: Is it just me or does the sensor seems to have no adjustment to it? I know there is a **** on the windshield wiper lever for it but as I try to turn it in either direction and give it time to adjust, I see absolutely no noticeable difference. It works fine as far as it comes on by itself when rain is detected, but the sensitivityadjustment seems broken. Anybody else come across this?

Hi, I have the same situation. The wipers detect the rain but the sensitivity adjustment has no effect. I have queried it with Land Rover but said it was operating OK according to the computer diagnostics. They don't seem to be able to adjust it.

Same problem here, with same response from Service.

Dunno, works fine for me. If you haven't, try cleaning the window where the sensor is (i.e. mirror attachment)

Sorry to be so blunt on that last post , test the sensor operation with a spray bottle filled with water, mist the dark blue spot at the top of your windshield, the sensor could be bad or the power supply could be loose inside the car, if you dont get any operation.your owners manual should have a description and operation section.

Default RE: Automatic rain sensors

I NOW have an issue with my rain sensing windshiled. It was working fine BEFORE I got a rock chip inthe windshieldand then eventually cracked, so I got it replaced. After the installation the intermittency could not be adjusted by using the control ****. Example: I can be driving in the rain at 40 kms and the intermittency would be the same as if I was travelling at 110 kms on the highway. So, obviously, there's a problem and I am not sure what it is. So now, I have to manually switch from a slow wipe on arterial roads, to a constant wipe on the highway.
Somebody please help me!!
SB.

Get it back to the installer. Something is wrong with the installation. The glass has a conductive surface that completes the circuit when moisture hits it and the installer screwed up.
